Bed Bug Extermination in Maple Leaf

Maple Leaf is the most ravine-exposed of the six neighbourhoods, with the Black Creek and Humber River valleys pressing in from the east and south around its postwar 1940s-to-1960s homes. That greenway contact makes wildlife the leading issue — raccoons, skunks, and squirrels den in the valley and move up into attics, decks, and sheds, while carpenter ants nest in the mature trees and trail into the older wood-framed houses. The aged foundations on these blocks also let pavement ants and mice in every spring.

The west side of Maple Leaf runs industrial along the CN Weston rail subdivision and Weston Road, a distinct profile from the residential east. Rats and mice breed along the rail embankments and industrial yards and push into adjacent homes and the Maple Leaf Plaza retail strip, which adds flies and mice of its own. The Jane Street apartment towers bring a separate bed bug and cockroach load through their pipe chases, giving the neighbourhood a heavier rodent-and-rail profile than the Downsview core blocks.
